OBJETIVES
This summary on the Argentine Polo Association and its support of the game would not be complete without the objectives this entity set up for itself:
1. To foster the game of polo in the Argentine Republic, maintaining the true spirit of the game, according to its ancient and honourable traditions.
2. To aim at getting all clubs in the country to join the Association; to foster the creation of new clubs throughout the national territor y and to lend to all its collaboration and moral, technical and material support.
3. To adopt a set of Rules, to interpret them and to oversee that they are complied with.
4. To act as arbiter in controversies related to the game of polo in the country, dealing conclusively with any matter that may be brought before the Association.
5. To organize, sponsor and direct all polo tournaments to be held in the country, be they international or inter-provincial, and those among clubs when applied for.
6. To keep the national register of individual handicaps of all inscribed players, organizing it in the best manner to ensure its constant updating.
7. To foster and promote the breeding of polo ponies, organizing periodically shows and sponsoring those carried out by other institutions.
8. To apply for support from public and private entities, in order to comply with its fostering objectives, taking the necessary steps to create a fund of its own.
It is necessary to stress the organizational work generated by the Argentine Polo Association to hold the Intercircuits National Handicap Championship bidding for the “República Argentina� Cup, the Juvenile Open Championship which carries its protagonists to the top world interclubs tournament, and the Argentine Open Championship at Palermo (for teams over a 30-goal handicap) with which the Triple Crown at stake together with the Tortugas Country Club and the Hurlingham Club comes to a close.
